{STUDIO POLICIES}

       1) Be On Time

Please be on time, especially with 30 minute lessons, the time goes by very fast. I suggest arriving a few minutes early so you are ready to go when the lesson starts.

       2) Materials

You have the option of buying music books/materials yourself or to reimburse your teacher after they have been purchased. Parents should discuss the options of books and programs before purchasing as most music stores will not allow a refund or exchange.

       3) Missed Lessons

If your child misses a lesson with sufficient notice, you will be offered a make-up lesson. You should give your teacher as much notice as possible but at least 24 hours. Missed lessons with insufficient notice will not be offered a make-up lesson. In case of an emergency, inform your teacher as soon as you are able. Please do not cancel a lesson due to lack of practice at home. A child who has not been able to practice needs a lesson even more to make sure their progress is not stalled.

Students with sufficient notice will be given the opportunity to attend a group make-up session. Dates will be offered periodically throughout the year. The material covered in these sessions will vary depending on who is attending. You can inquire with your teacher for further information.

Please note, refunds or credits will not be given for missed lessons.

       4) Payments

All lessons must be paid for in advance, by the 1st of the month. Please be timely with all payments. Should you be late with a payment please inform your teacher to make alternate payment date arrangements. Anyone who does not make their payments and/or does not communicate with their teacher may be suspended from lessons until their account has been paid in full. This is unfair to both your child and your teacher and should be avoided. Payments can be made by e-transfer or with post-dated cheques.

       5) Zoom Lessons

Zoom lessons are treated the same as in-person, studio lessons. Students should not attend a Zoom lesson if they are ill. Please let your child rest and resume lessons once are they well.

In-person lessons may be moved to Zoom in case of bad weather, illness/injury, or any other unforeseen circumstance or advisory. Your teacher will advise as changes need to be made. You may also request a Zoom lesson, in advance, to avoid a missed lesson.

       6) Cancellations

Before cancelling lessons, it is first recommended to speak to your teacher. Alternate arrangements or changes can usually be made. If this is not possible, please advise your teacher of the need to cancel one month in advance or as soon as possible.
